Why You Should Play Diablo: The Hell 2 Right Now

It’s the ultimate way to play classic Diablo in 2022. Also, it’s way better than Diablo Immortal.

Diablo 1 defined the RPG genre for the decades to come. Released in late 1996, most of its systems and features still hold up today. It’s still an amazing game, but let’s face it, it feels dated.

Compared to today’s standard, the game’s resolution is pretty low. Also, it’s in a 4:3 ratio, so it’s stretched out when you play it on a widescreen monitor. And it’s pixelated. A lot. Add to that the fact that it’s a 1996 game, and you’ll notice odd-looking user interfaces. NPC trading comes to mind. It’s simply a long list of items. So odd and outdated, not user-friendly at all. That’s a small example, here.

What if you want to enjoy Diablo 1’s gameplay, without having to endure a weird and dated interface? Or dated graphics?

Now, a guy known as Mordor created The Hell 2, an extensive, giant mod, that upgrades Diablo 1 to today’s standards. It’s a GIANT mod in active development as we speak. Pretty crazy when you think about it.

How good is it? It’s amazing. Once you’ve tried it, you can’t go back to old vanilla Diablo 1. I promise.
